OUR VISION

At S.P.A.R.K.S. we want the STEM education divide to be nonexistent.

We work to inculcate a passion for STEM in K-5 students, with focus on the underserved. We believe every student deserves the opportunity to soar like a bird, without their limitations breaking their wings. We do this through a three-fold process encompassing awareness, accessibility and alliance. Through our three-fold process, we educate the general population about STEM disparities that exist in the community through publications and social media outreach, we conduct interactive & collaborative summer camps, workshops, and have online stem resources for K-5 to promote STEM education to all with a verified curriculum, lastly we partner with like-minded organizations in the community to make a lasting impact. We are Students Providing Awareness and Reach of Knowledge in STEM.

We are passionate about making a positive change in our community. We want to unite our community through the great powers of learning.  At S.P.A.R.K.S. we are ready to work together and be unstoppable!

WHAT ARE PEOPLE SAYING?

MICHELLE SCOTT
2nd Grade Teacher

The S.P.A.R.K.S. team has presented four engaging lessons over Zoom to my class this year.  They are diligent in their work, choosing Common Core Standards that align to our curriculum.  They are also creative in their lesson development and always make it engaging for my students using online resources such as Peardeck and Kahoot.  My students and I look forward to each time that they join us.

SAHAANA RAJAGOPALAN

Sahaana has been going to India ever since she was 1 years old. However, as she grew older, she began to examine the cyclical poverty in the region. Disheartened by the lack of education opportunities for slum children in India, Sahaana decided to turn to her own home state of Delaware and realize there too that STEM disparities exist.  Sahaana has always been passionate about STEM equity and education equity. She works very hard to inculcate a passion in every student the S.P.A.R.K.S. Project works with! She can't wait to see this organization grow and work with even more bright kids! She encourages fellow community members to take action and assist in bridging the education gap in the K-5 population.
